IE Float Drop Bug

Just when I was psyched about making my first layout in css, IE 6 decides to ruin that for me through one of its many css bugs. Now after about 2 days of frantically searching the web and asking in various forums, the problem is FINALLY fixed. The solution? Giving the floating content a negative margin equal to the total width of the content.
#right {
float: left;
width: 566px;
}
* html #right{
display: inline;
margin-right: -596px;
}

Much thanks to Paul D and his comment on this site for the solution. :) However, I don’t know if adding this bit of css will break any other browsers, so if any of you notice anything funny about the layout, please let me know.

Also, is anyone interested in link exchanges? :) I’m currently in the process of building my links page, so anyone wanting to exchange links, do leave a comment (or contact me)!

3 more days till Thanksgiving break! Woohoo! :D

    Yup, great job! Do you still need hosting by the way, or are you done? And Your lovely layout has inspired me to learn CSS fully :)

    It looks perfect now. Great job fixing that, aren’t tiny coding issues like that a total pain in the ass?

    I use a lot of negative alignments myself so I don’t think there should be any ramifications for you to use that.

    You should consider upgrading to IE7, it’s so much better. :P

    Great job though, it looks amazing! ^__^v

    The layout looks beatiful. Then again, I’m looking at it through Firefox, so maybe that’s why?

    As for the link exchange, if you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to exchange links with you (hey, why not, eh?). I’m not terribly good at updating at the moment, but when the twelfth of December passes by, I should start picking up.

    Hope you had/are having a nice Thanksgiving (our Thanksgiving is only three days and not five, so I’m not quite sure when it would have started or ended in the United States…).

    Aw. Heh. i was in your position about a week ago. I know how you feel. I think I actually did curse God and die, but funny how I am still alive. 8P

    Great site by the way! 8]

    I discovered the same thing about relative positioning for the navigation in my David E. Kelley fanlisting, only it was the negative margin at bottom of the menu DIV, equal to the height of the header. Grrr, IE sucks big time!

    To Ai: IE does suck big time. It amazes me that people still use it and recommend others to use it to view their websites! I’m just thinking to myself “you’re kidding, right?” and uses firefox :P
