My name is Jenny, but I’m better known online as Mimi or Shao. I was born in Taiwan on March 25, 1988, making me the fiery and passionate Aries. I was raised in Canada (Toronto anyone?), but have lived in Taiwan long enough to have the language and culture rub off on me, and now I’m currently living on the east coast of USA. Moving around can be quite good, as you meet lots of different people and experience lots of new things. It sounds cheesy, but it’s true, and it makes a great college essay. Seriously.
I have a secret crush on web designing, much like guys have a secret crush on Smirnoff and chick flicks(my ex told me that one). It’s a secret because no one offline knows about it, except my mom. She found out because I threw a tantrum when my desktop crashed, causing me to lose a whole morning’s worth of coding on a WP theme. I have attached to this hobby since 5th grade (which makes it 9 years now) ever since I made my first Pokemon page filled with stolen awards and images using Cool Page. It was hosted on Xoom and it was called Pokemon Nighclub Y2K. Ok, so bite me. I was 11. :V
I improved, through trial-and-error (and lots of time), and went through my phases and shares of sites and phenomenons. There was the Pokemon phase, which was soon followed by my Digimon phase. That was when I started getting serious about web designing and started using Dreamweaver and Paintshop Pro. It was also the time when having a domain was the shit and Doteasy was the host. I associated myself with the anime/gaming clique and made my first collective, and things got started from there. Some sites you might know me from, asides from those found in my portfolio and domain section, are Youthful Days (a Prince of Tennis fansite), Boy’s Cloud (a Prince of Tennis message board), Sakura Blossoms (a Digimon 01/02 fansite), Oversoul (a message board), and Munei Mo (another message board).
When I’m not spending time with my secret love, I also swim (or at least used to), act, and model. I also love everything about the Asian culture, especially the food, fashion, and music. :3 During my spare time I enjoy shopping, reading good books (usually non-fiction), listening to music, hanging out with friends, flipping through fashion magazines, experimenting with outfits, hair, and makeup, playing with my duck on webkinz (haha), and spending way too much time on facebook.
PS. Yes, that is me in the photo. With lots of makeup, a feather on my eyebrow, and totally crazy hair. Call me queen.
