IE Float Drop Bug
Nov 19, 2006 Tips & Tricks 10 Comments
Just when I was psyched about making my first layout in css, IE 6 decides to ruin that for me through one of its many css bugs. Now after about 2 days of frantically searching the web and asking in various forums, the problem is FINALLY fixed. The solution? Giving the floating content a negative margin equal to the total width of the content.
#right {
float: left;
width: 566px;
}
* html #right{
display: inline;
margin-right: -596px;
}
Much thanks to Paul D and his comment on this site for the solution.
However, I don’t know if adding this bit of css will break any other browsers, so if any of you notice anything funny about the layout, please let me know.
Also, is anyone interested in link exchanges?
I’m currently in the process of building my links page, so anyone wanting to exchange links, do leave a comment (or contact me)!
3 more days till Thanksgiving break! Woohoo!

Ever since I recieved the money order from the Zaza people, I’ve been worried. I thought the whole fashion show thing was a joke, and I did not expect them to actually send money. But when I saw the $2850 money order in the mail, damn. I had to tell my parents about it, and they said no, and to return the money to them. And this is when things started to get fishy.
Ok, so I shouldn’t have lied and said I was in China for a family emergency (damn, I don’t even have relatives in China), and I couldn’t make it to the show. Surprise surprise, they email me back saying the show has been postponed to the 23rd. I still told them I was busy and would not be able to attend and would like to return the money order. They seemed reluctant, but then they said to cash the money order and then send the cash via westernunion.com and I could keep $250 “as a token of their appreciation”. Ok, who gives people $250 for nothing?
What’s even funnier, the location to send the cash in in Nigeria. Why there? They are having a fashion show, that’s why. Ok, I know they have famines, AIDS, poverty, and loads of other crap, but fashion shows? Pfft, please, you’ve got to be kidding me. Parents insisted I return the money order to them and not be involved in anyway, and right then, a little voice in my head told me to trust in my parents. So I email the dude telling him my friends had trouble cashing the money order and I don’t have time to do it myself (ok, yet another lie. God forgive me. >_<).
This is the part where I freak out. The dude calls, and I was stupid enough to pick it up. I tried pretending like there was bad reception, but when he asked if i could hear him, I was stupid enough to say no. *bricked* He sounded rude and obnoxious, and kept asking why I had lied saying I cashed the money order. Oh the irony. I hung up on him after a while and refused to pick up when he tried to call back.
I started researching more on Zaza fabrics and the dude, and I ended up realizing the whole thing was just another 419 scam. It’s just another one of those “You win $10000000!” or “Some dude died and you get his inheritance!” or “I’d like you to help him transfer some money and shit!” scams but with a twist. And because I had wanted to model so badly before, I fell for it. Shame on me. But good thing I listened to my parents and didn’t cash the money order, or I may as well be in jail for moneylaudering or forging checks or something.
*sigh* Greed is a sin indeed. I should be content with what I have already.
