What’s Been Going On Lately

My last couple posts since I talked about the importance of consistent blogging haven’t really been of quality or of interest. Even as I write this now, I can’t guarantee that it’ll be of interest to you, but:

  1. It’s not just pictures or some twitter-like post
  2. It’s not a sponsored post

I haven’t really gotten back to replying to all your comments still and I haven’t been commenting on your sites either (though I do still browse through every now and then) even though I’ve been back for almost 2 weeks now. A lot has happened, and I’m going to try and condense everything and save you all from boredom.

Basically, I found out my boyfriend of a year cheated on me all the way back when we just started going out. The hurt and emotional distress I went through isn’t something I can describe, and it really isn’t something I’d like to disclose any further either. All I can say is that I thank God for the amazing friends that have been on my side and supporting me throughout this whole ordeal, despite my cutting off connections with them this past year. I also realized the importance of God in my life and just how much I need Him, so I’m probably going to be spending a lot less time on my blog now, just because I would much rather be spending time catching up with Him. I know I haven’t posted anything lately in the Quiet Time category, but expect them more often from now on :)

On the other hand, I’ve made well over hundreds of dollars through sponsored posts now, and I’m definitely going to continue, as it’s a really convenient and good way for me to make some extra cash on the side. Trust me, I’d love to get a normal job with a set salary, but the US government is an idiot and they are taking their precious time approving my renewal for my work authorization card. Morons.

When I get the chance, I will definitely put up some proofs and individual reviews of each service. Meanwhile, please check out the Get Paid To section.

Look of The Year

Look of the YearIn 2006, I attended IPOP New York and got discovered by my agency. It was a fun experience and living at the Marriot Marquis in Manhattan for free was absolute luxury. There is a similar event going on called Look of the Year. It’s a bit different from IPOP in that it focuses purely on modeling as opposed to acting/modeling/singing/dancing. So yes, it’s kind of like a beauty contest. All you need to do is submit your photos and you might get a chance to win $10,000 or land a contract with an agency. Are the chances big? I don’t know, but if you’ve always wanted to model, agencies are always looking for beautiful young girls to be a part of their roster. For more information, check out http://www.lookoftheyear.com

I signed up because I was curious and bored. Please vote for me! Thank you :)

A quick update on the site. I’ve added a Making Money Online section, which is just my old making money blog transfered over. I decided I didn’t like the idea of having an extra blog when I wasn’t even going to post that often. Speaking of which, I got paid a second time from Smorty, and from some private advertisers I wrote reviews for. If my calculations are correct, I will make $100+ by the end of this month simply by blogging. Will update with a more in depth entry soon.

P.S. My philosophy 140 exam was ass. This is the 4th time I’ve had to talk about euthanasia. Please don’t bring up the subject, because I might have to kill someone if I heard the topic again.

sore in 37 different places

My break has pretty much been spent chilling at home, relaxing, playing sims 2, and not really doing anything productive. In the midst of all this, i get a call from my agency saying I got a job as supporting cast in One Life To Live and that I should go fill in the paperwork theĀ  day before.

So I leave on Wednesday, bringing nothing with me except my little jelly bag, and the people at wardrobe call me AFTERWARDS to tell me what to bring. That annoyed me, but I decided to let it go thinking I could go back to Maryland first to get my stuff. What made it worse was the fact that the lady I had to see gave me a number to call AFTER 4pm to check my shooting time.

I’m as nervous as anything and praying my heart out hoping the shooting time would be later than 12pm. Wrong. It was at 9 am. 9 AM. I had to stay over in New York without my outfits, my toiletries, my anything. I had no idea where to find a hotel or a mall, and my cellphone was dying. I thought I was going to end up in a hostel with my arms and legs missing in the morning.

Luckily my boyfriend called his sister who then got us directions to Marriot and we found a Macy’s close by to buy the clothes I needed. It was 10pm by the time I finished doing everything and my feet were dying. So by the time we got back to the hotel I pretty much collapsed and died.

I had to wake up at 7am the next morning, catch the metro to the shoot location, and the wardrobe guy Dave (why do these guys always have to talk like girls?) was going around and selecting outfits for everyone. And so with my luck, the dress he chose just wouldn’t zip up for me and I was running as late as anything. Thank God for this other girly guy at wardrobe who helped me zip up. So I ran for dear life and realized they were just taking attendance. Grr. Afterwards I sit in the dressing room for literally 3 hours doing nothing except talking to other girls about boob jobs and nasty boyfriends. Fun.

Then for the next 7 hours, I was in the studio, standing there with my heels in this little black dress and freezing my ass off. I was thirsty, tired, and hungry, so by the time lunch break rolled around, I was more than ready to leave. My boyfriend was sitting in the lobby waiting for me, and he saw the whole shooting process on TV. Apparently, I had the angriest face he’s ever seen since going out, but heck, I’m not surprised. After lunch we come back for more torture and pain, though as perks I did get to see Mary J. Blige and listen to her sing live. Yay? And I got to dance with some cute white guy who was almost twice my height.

I was so relieved to finally LEAVE at 7pm that I’m pretty sure I was the first to run out that building. I’ll skip the rest of my unfortunate evening, but let’s just say by the time I finally got back home, it’s was 3 am, and I could barely stand, let alone walk. I had the best sleep of my life ever that night. This trip wasn’t completely ALL bad though. I did get a haircut there before going to fill in paperwork and my hairdresser was absolutely adorable and hilarious. And for what the lady did to my hair back in MD, he did a pretty good job fixing it. And he was very very cute. Hehehe.

But in all seriousness, what really made this trip not complete hell was the fact that I had my boyfriend with me. Oh my God, I do not know what I would have done without him. ???

Alive (?)

Sorry for the lack of updates! I’ve been sick and really busy, but thank God, it’s finally winter break!

So in the 3+ weeks I’ve been dead, much has happened. First, I got an audition for the role of Jade in the upcoming Bratz live action movie. So I got to New York, and everyone at the agency was like “Oh my God you’re going to be rich and famous!” while I was like “…sure…”. Long story short, the trip there was awful (me and mom arguing on the streets, stupid thugs feeling me up), and they actually made me sing for the audition, and I conveniently forgot the lyrics to “Colors of the Wind” half way through. Needless to say, I did not get the part, but eh, there will always be next time. :)

Christmas was great, though there was no snow at all. No Christmas tree either, because I was too lazy to set everything up. :P But Christmas presents were excellent: a coach bag, 3 pairs of shoes, 2 rings, more than $500 worth of clothes, disney posters, the little mermaid dvd, books, stuffed animals, more handbags and accessories, and of course, candy!

My break was spent working (4+ hours a day at The Limited). Not that bad as the other sales associates are nice, but my feet are killing me. Oh well, at least I’ll have money to spend after the break is over :)

Speaking of money, I got a $15000 scholarship into UMBC and a $5000 scholarship into Philadelphia University. UMBC is very tempting, as its dorms are hotel suite style, and that scholarship means I don’t need to pay a thing :D Also got a recommendation for the presidential scholars program at FIT, but it’s too much of a hassle. Besides, I hate New York City now…stupid thugs.

Ok, so I had a lot more I was going to write, but once again, I’m getting sick of this blog (I need to get rid of this habit). Perhaps I’ll post more once my new layout is up, but right now my photo shop isn’t working, which makes me mad.

Sick

Ugh…I’ve been feeling like crap ever since I came back from New York. The job and audition were fun, and I actually got paid for 2 hours instead of 1, which is a bonus. :) The people I worked and auditioned with were very nice, unlike the agents I sometimes see at John Robert Powers.

I had SAT I the next day, which was totally not cool as I got home at almost 11pm the night before. I had gel in my hair and I wanted to shower so badly, but I was too tired, so I went the Whitman HS the next day looking (hopefully not smelling) like crap. The testing instructor was about an hour late and just wouldn’t shut up when she finally got here. I ended up leaving at 1pm, and I think I did about the same, if not worse, this time.

Right now my throat hurts, I feel lethargic, and I’ve been pigging out on junk food and not doing any of my workouts. And I blame this total burnout on *cough*HIM*cough*. To make my day worse, I have a speech project due tomorrow in English, though I swear she told us it was due Friday. Ugh, life is so not cool.

On a lighter note, I found this awesome ps2 emulator that supposedly supports the Final Fantasy series! I’m currently downloading Final Fantasy X off of BT, and will play X-2 and XII when I am done with X (here is where I’d like to whack myself for deleting X-2). I also just finished watching The Covenant, which I found rather disappointing. Hot guys, cool powers, cool effects, and that’s about it.

Last but not least, please welcome my new hostee Emily! :D
