Best Summer Vacation
Aug 8, 2008 Stuff
One of the best summer vacations I’ve had without going out of the country was my trip to New York. It was a two day and one night trip, and we took the bus from Washington, DC all the way to Chinatown, New York. We spent most of our first day in Chinatown, which to me is almost like revisiting Taipei all over again. They have some awesome hair salons and lots of shops that sell cute trinkets and Asian fashion. We got a haircut at one of the salons, and my hairdresser was absolutely adorable. I’m tempted to go back to New York just so I can get my hair styled by him.
But in all seriousness, he did do a great job. Of course, there was some shopping and eating done, and for the night, we stayed at the Marriot Marquis by Times Square. Needless to say, the city night lights were beautiful and the hotel was awesome.
The next day was spent at Times square and the surrounding areas, where we shopped some more and took some pictures, and then we headed back to Chinatown in the early afternoon to take the bus back to DC. We wanted to avoid rush hour, which is absolutely crazy in NYC. -_-
