A Fateful Thanksgiving

I would say happy, but there were those bittersweet moments when I saw him again and when he…well, pretty much ignored me. I’m not blameless either, because even though it was unintentional, I rubbed it in his face by laughing and chatting and hugging everyone like I was on top of the world. Talk about room for maturing for the both of us. :/

Nonetheless, I’ve decided stop thinking about him completely and focusing more on school, friends, family, job, and most of all, my relationship with God.

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

So far day 2 of my recovery process has been wonderful. I bought 3 more books from Amazon, even though I’ve yet to finish the ones I bought before. But something (or should I say some things) I did finish were my college applications. Now I just have to sit back, relax, and wait. Of course, this part can be nerve-wracking too.

I also added a radio blog to the site with some of my favorite songs, mostly Christian. Which reminds me, would people find it too offensive if I kept talking about Christianity in here? That was the original purpose for this domain, but I don’t want to offend anyone, nor do I want to preach (as I know how annoying it is). I guess the whole “God is amazing” part is more for myself, so I can look back and see how God has worked in my life.

The only reason I don’t password protect it is that I feel there might be other people out there who are interested and who knows, will be inspired (?) by my stories.

I can’t believe her!

I can’t believe my AP Economics teacher! It’s the day before thanksgiving and half of our school, including the teachers, aren’t here, yet she feels it’s perfectly ok to give us some worksheet for homework because we missed her “oh-so-important” class. Give me a break! I was already annoyed by how she spams my hotmail inbox with her complaints about our bad manners every other day, and now she emails us saying “I can’t believe you missed class”! Like, oh my God, I can’t believe the world is round!

I feeling rather sick right now, and I’m not sure what’s causing it, hopefully just a lack of sleep, but if it’s because of something stupid I did yesterday…then I’m screwed. Speaking of yesterday, I broke down again; just when I thought I was getting over my heartbreak. It was worse than before, and I even yelled at my mom, who was trying to comfort me. She didn’t get mad or anything, but she just sad with a sad look on her face that she’ll continue to pray for me. Right then and there, I just wanted to curse God and die. Seriously. And while I was in the middle of feeling sorry for myself and thinking that I was the most unloved and unwanted person in the world, God sent an angel.

Janice called. I had texted her earlier that day asking if she was free today, and I suddenly heard my phone ringing, and it was Janice. Of all people I can bitch at, Janice is the only one I can’t. So we chatted for a while, and as I was chatting, it felt like parts of that bitterness was melting away one at a time. By the time we hung up, my heart was just filled with peace and guilt, because I was not alone; God was there. Like he always has been, and always will.

Still, my stomach, head, and every other body part is physically suffering. I think I’m about to hurl.

IE Float Drop Bug

Just when I was psyched about making my first layout in css, IE 6 decides to ruin that for me through one of its many css bugs. Now after about 2 days of frantically searching the web and asking in various forums, the problem is FINALLY fixed. The solution? Giving the floating content a negative margin equal to the total width of the content.
#right {
float: left;
width: 566px;
}
* html #right{
display: inline;
margin-right: -596px;
}

Much thanks to Paul D and his comment on this site for the solution. :) However, I don’t know if adding this bit of css will break any other browsers, so if any of you notice anything funny about the layout, please let me know.

Also, is anyone interested in link exchanges? :) I’m currently in the process of building my links page, so anyone wanting to exchange links, do leave a comment (or contact me)!

3 more days till Thanksgiving break! Woohoo! :D

Oh Noes!

Can you believe I’m sick again? Not to mention I feel lethargic and have a sore throat and skipped my internship and classes at JRP. Worst of all, the dance at Wootton is tomorrow! This is NOT good.

Just a quick question for you guys: How is the speed of my site? Slow? Super slow? Average? Because compared to other sites, mine loads really slow and sometimes it doesn’t even load at all! Netfirms is awful. Do not get hosting with them. I’m considering Xfluro’s 30-1000 plan and Surpass Hosting’s oc5 plan (they’re having another promo!). Still debating between these 2 since I’m not sure I’ll need that much space, but either would be 10 times better than slow-ass netfirms.

Also working on a new theme for this site and for the first time ever, I’m formatting EVERYTHING through css! But man, it’s a LOT of coding and work. I’ll probably finish it by Thanksgiving. The covergirl is my favorite character from a recent TV show I got addicted too (and I thought I was over the addiction…guess not), and I’m waiting for the show and character fanlistings to go on the trouble list at TFL.org since they both have rule violations. >D

Interesting fact: Has anyone ever heard of or watched the show Beverly Hills 91210? Apparently, its inspiration came from the town I’m currently living in, and Beverly Hills High (the school in the show) was based off of my current high school. It turns out that one of the producers of that show is an alumini. :D

[EDIT] Ok, so I didn’t end up going to the Wootton dance because I really don’t feel like showing off everyone my super runny nose. Instead, I stayed home and finished coding the new theme (uh, nerd? lol) which is now up for viewing. :) Comments and suggestions appreciated! [/EDIT]

Epilogue

I finally mustered up the courage to confront him again, and God has been faithful and given me an answer: it’s time to move on.

Reasons according to him are that he’s busy with school, he doesn’t want to go behind his parents’ back (oh so now he doesn’t), and that his parents just don’t approve of him being in a relationship. Any girl reading this would know it sounded like complete bullcrap, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. If he is telling the truth, I’m happy for him as he’s finally gonna start concentrating on his studies and being more considerate to his parents. And if he’s lying, well, the asshole doesn’t deserve my affections anyway.

However, the hatred in my heart towards him is finally starting to melt away.

The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.
Job 1:21
